SAINT GEISER

Saint Geiser is a very personal proyect, which I started some years ago. It is true that it has a sacred meaning, and it is, because it is the name I gave to this space where I can express my ideas and proposals. It is the space given to my encounters with the silence of creation. I have to tell that Saint Geiser is a textil proyect and not a fashion product. Although I have created and designed many garments so far, Saint Geiser still has many dimensions to explore and grow.

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH TEXTILES

I grew up in Peru. Peru was the scenery of many Pre-Columbian cultures, which developed textile techniques. They used raw materials such as cotton, alpaca, vicuña, pebble art, gold and silver threads. Since childhood I could appreciate their richness and cultural value, which had a variety of icons. Later I was influenced by being close to restoration of Prehispanic objets and textile.

MY INSPIRATION

My main inspiration is nature in its wildest dimension, because it seems to me that the aspect of life still preserver the most pure elements, to saying a way, the relation between the living and its environment nevertheless. Another source of inspiration is the culture in its folklore manifestations, where I obtain elements such as iconography, customs, dances, color, textures and materials. From both aspects I try to mould a graphic element that will relate them and can be designed on a garment as a canvas.
